Next Melbourne Cruise

Based on the success of Parry's cruise last weekend, I'd like to propose another (Melbourne) cruise for Sunday 4th May.
Starting from the same place as Parry's cruise - carpark of the Coach and Horses pub in Ringwood.
Leaving at 1030am. And returning about 3ish...

Re: Random idle when hot

The other ideas are equally valid, but have you considered whether or not it is possibly the carby icing up ? - I had a similar issue once when on a cruise - extended driving at higher speeds causes the engine to warm up to running temp, but the carby gets cold, and when you come to a stop, the thin...

Re: Reversing Switch

Ok. So for those that cared to know. Undo the reversing switch with the gearbox in-situ, and yes - Gear oil will pour out the hole. But if you're quick with the replacement you'll only get a puddle about the size of a CD. and if you're smart you'll have put a rag on the ground to catch it. :t...

Reversing Switch

Hi Guys.
My reversing switch has shat itself (wire has fatigued at the switch and broken) - If I unscrew the faulty unit from the gearbox, will I get drowned in Gearbox oil?

Driving Lights

Hi Guys. Just wondering how people have wired up driving lights. The system is negatively switched, so the wiring is all live to the combination switch where selecting High-beam completes the circuit to Earth and thus illuminates the High Beam... So tapping off the High-beam circuit results in a non...

:NFI: I came to Kiama.... Sydney's just a few clicks further up the road... Will depend on how the boy proves itself between now and then, and where/when it gets set for...

Do Hatch locks fit in a MB?

As the title suggests... I have dissimilar locks in the doors of my MB and a full set of matching locks on a donor Hatch. Will the Hatch locks go into the MB so I can swap them in and have the one key fits all :NFI: (that'd be nice! :-o ) ?

Re: The Buzz Box gets the "Big Block"

Well... It works. :D :D :D Few teething issues... Not happy yet with the clutch... Works fine, but a lot of travel before anything starts happening... Just an adjustment thing. No Biggie. Gearbox selector is akin to ... " The gears are over there somewhere... go find 'em..." But I'm...

Re: The Buzz Box gets the "Big Block"

Hi Brayden. That's actually reassuring... You're talking to an IT-Geek who is doing this for the first time, so I tend to read any instructions I can find, before I tackle just about all of it. I tend to freak out a little when I can't find written data to work to. You do know the definition...

Re: The Buzz Box gets the "Big Block"

Ok... So after listening to crickets in regard to the torque settings for the clutch cover, I thought I'd ring Exedy Technical Support for an indication of torque setting... The official word from the technical guy is 'tight'. :x With my flashy new torque wrench in hand, I was hoping for some meanin...

Re: The Buzz Box gets the "Big Block"

Ok, thanks guys - Flywheel now fitted up. Next - Torque settings for Clutch cover bolts? - not given (that I could find!) in either the F8b or the F5a Manuals... And can someone confirm for me - the Diff & gearbox share oil... I can't see that documented in either book either... I know it's 2 Lt...

Re: The Buzz Box gets the "Big Block"

Update... Got the flywheel machined = $48 and collect that afternoon... Sweet. :thumbup2: After much angst, I drilled, drilled some more, screw-extracted, wimped out, drilled some more, then found the screw extractor was bottoming out, so bought two taps - (M6x1.0mm pitch) and hand-re-tapped the hol...
