For me it is going to work dependent so I will probably only know the week before.

Re: Now the MB Build thread
Well I couldn't find the slight water leak so the engine has come out today so that I can fix that one up. Also I am going to test fit the adapter plate for the ITB's while I have the engine out to see how that is going. Looking at the bolt locations I am probably going to have to pull the engine ag...

Re: Now the MB Build thread
It has more it in and that was in 4th. Ed backed off because it was leaning out. With better jetting it probably has another 1-2kw in it I reckon but no much more.

Re: Now the MB Build thread
Ok the Mighty Boy held together on the dyno. The run was nice and smooth and consistent. Before I went down I pulled the secondary jet and opened it up from a 132 to a 140. Just as well I did as you can see that the engine is still running pretty lean in the top end so the cam and extractors are doi...

Re: Now the MB Build thread
Still running the MB tank but if you look back through the stuff you will see that I grafted the SF swift electric pump into the tank. There was a heap of crap in the tank, having it empty during the Townsville wet season when I did was obviously a bad idea. I have cleaned it out and will check the ...

Re: Now the MB Build thread
Thought I was all good but no....... Died on the way the work this morning. I managed to limp it into work but I will have to trailer it home. More sediment in the filter but not massive, I have a feeling it is the fine mesh filter on the end of the in tank pump that is getting blocked. I will drain...

Re: Stock as a Rock Intake
It is not as hard as you think, you can use stainless rods to weld mild steel to cast but in this application it is not load bearing it is just a place to put the end of the pipe so that it will pick up hot air.

Re: Now the MB Build thread
I will have to take it for a longer drive to be certain but it seems to be ok after blowing out the lines and a new fuel filter. Will do a couple of drives over the weekend and see how it goes. The loom for the ECU turned up today as well whooo.

Re: Now the MB Build thread
Bloody jinxed myself by booking the car in for the dyno. It failed to proceed yesterday on the way home from work. I am pretty sure it is a fuel issue because it starts and idles fine but under load it just dies in the bum. I am hoping that I have just picked up some crap in the tank and it is block...

Re: Stock as a Rock Intake
I would have been inclined to just do what they do for extractors and weld a short piece of exhaust tube the correct diameter to the exhaust manifold and save yourself the hassle.

P.S. I have no issues with my MB in Canberra but I do keep it in the shed.

Re: Now the MB Build thread
OK so it is booked in with Autotech on Wed next week so we will find out for certain what sort of power it is putting down. I have been working on the adapter for the ITB's and it is coming along well. I have got a little more work to do on it and then send it off to get it milled flat and it will b...

Re: For sale "sweep" MB for parts
Laura, I don't have room for the whole vehicle but there are a couple of bits and pieces that I would like to tidy mine up. If you don't have any luck getting rid of it complete let me know because I would be interested in a couple of bits and pieces. Unless you are looking to get rid of it really c...

Re: Now the MB Build thread
Brayden, I would have thought that 38kw was pretty reasonable given the engine has that much power std at the flywheel. I think that given that you are only probably going to get 15% loss in a FWD then it should be about right, 15% from a much larger cam and extractors with very long primaries. Heck...

Re: Now the MB Build thread
Ok so a little update, I have turned into a techno nerd and downloaded an app for my phone that will estimate KW at the wheels and measure 0-100 times etc. On my private road it is telling me that I have about 38kw atw with the cam and extractors and doing 0-100 in about 12.5 seconds without a clutc...

Re: G10a engine transplant under way!!!
You should just be able to flip the whole stabilier over to uncross them if that makes sense, as the bolt pattern is symetrical, as you are probably going to have to bend and shape them anyway. Regarding the extractors, there is a set on ebay for $166 at the moment to suit the G10. I think I paid ne...
