I had a 30DIC on my F8B for a bit, before I went EFI. I just drilled out the holes on the carburettor because they were such a close fit to the original thread (a bit dodge but it worked). Then there was heaps of fiddling to get bits a pieces for the throttle linkage (it's on the passenger side opf ...

Thought I would update. I finally have the Mighty Boy back on the road (after a few weeks and $590 later). The starter need reconditioning. Pick up in distributor was interfering with ECU (it was reading 12,000rpm when cranked - no wonder it didn't start :-o ). Fitted a resistor in loom to stop inte...

I'm not sure it would be as easy as taking it somewhere. You'll need the parts for starters sa I'm not sure how keen a workshop would be in tracking down them all, especially the intake manifold! Check this link:

Looks good - I'd be interested in a s/c kit too to try out with my EFI setup.

BTW, your Mini looks great :thumbup1:

Baseball bat and a heat gun :) Or some PVC pipe works too...

If you are not keen for a bit of DIY then you might have to get the guards rolled at a workshop.

Is your MB lowered as 13X5.5's should fit OK. Mine scrub a bit now on the front but it is lowered 2 inches.

Apparently it's the ECU causing the trouble :censored: It is causing the starter to go back on itself or something. Not sure if I need a new ECU or not but to upgrade from the DualSport to the Stinger model is over a grand... Fingers crossed I won't need to do that...

Well I called in the RACT to try and start it and no go. Didn't even get it going with a roll start :x

So, off on the tow truck (which is becoming an all too familiar sight) to the workshop! Hopefully nothing too major.

Re: turbos/superchargers

These get sold on ebay....they are getting harder to find. Prices range from $250-$450. When i get some spare time i will make adaptors to add subaru turbo to stock manifolds and maybe some blower manifolds. The AMR superchargers are hard to fit aren't they? I remember a guy on here was doing it ag...

Thanks for that. Will have to check those things out. I have a feeling it might be a dodgy power connection as the second hand starter motor I got didn't have a terminal on the positive side of the starter motor so I used the one from my old one and the connection was a bit dodgy. Meh, I'm no good a...

Starter Motor Problem

Trying to get the MB back on the road after a long period out of action. Bought a new battery, got another starter motor (second hand), new positive batery terminal because the other one was cracked but still no go. What baffles me is that I could jump start it before and it would go but wouldn't st...

I am running an EMS DualSport on my EFI F8B. Needs a dyno tune. Software is pretty old - idle is up the shit and needs the fuel and ignition map tuned to suit my engine! I wouldn't mind upgrading to the Stinger version but $$$.

I'm the same as Brayden though - carby to EFI...

If they're the same between F5A and F8B then I've probably got a few at home.

Starter Motor - F8B

Just wondering if anyone can help me out with a starter. I have three separate prices. $570 for genuine, $380 retail at another place and $196 from the same place but at mates rates.

Anyone got a good second hand one or am I just better of getting a new one?
