Re: G10 Engine Swap Compendium (What you may get yourself in

I believe that the block is essentially the same on all engines, so things like heads and gearboxes 'should' be interchangeable but I know for a fact that the water pumps are different. There is a pair f reconditioned G10 engines on ebay for $300 each if anyone is interested.

Re: Using SF Swift components

Breyten, the spline on the SF will fit into the MB stuff but the dust seal is a different diameter. Additionally the SF inners are different to MB which is why I had to make the shafts for mine. I think I still have some photos and stuff of the SF struts when I was stuffing around with them and MB s...

Re: G10 Engine Swap Compendium (What you may get yourself in

The first thing that I would suggest is identify that there is the G10 which is the tin top and came in the MK1 swift and the G10A which has a different head and gearbox that was in the MKII Swift. They have the same block but are not the same engine, as for what is required do a search for my threa...

Re: Now the MB Build thread

Hey guys been a while since I did an update. Not much going on really but I have finally gotten around to fitting the caster plates which move the sway bar mounts forward about 35mm. This equates to around 4 degree extra caster, which on a normal car would be a little over the top but on the MB it i...

Do a search there is a guy in Townsville that is running one in a car that he uses for super sprints and hill climbs. I think that his name is Casey.

Just to follow up on that I have an Adaptronic on my Toyota Sprinter hill climb car as will be fitting one to the MB over Christmas to run the ITB's with sequential injection and coil over plug ignition.

Re: Rogan's Alto Works Project

Benny, Adaptronic has got to be the most well rounded, capable ECU that I have come across in my 20+ years of playing with cars. That is before you even take into account the price and the customer support you get from Andy. Tell me one other ECU brand where the guy who designed it will respond to q...

Re: different hubs and bump steer

Additionally if you are unable to get them parallel then if the angle is greater or smaller than the plane of the LCA will also dictate if you get toe in or out under compression of the suspension.

Re: different hubs and bump steer

The photo that you have shown and how you have welded the tab on there will not reflect the real angle of the tie rod in relation to the LCA. see the attached pic to see what I mean.

Re: different hubs and bump steer

Bump steer is due to a misalignment in the plane that the rack end moves in relation to the lower control arm. So winding them out will not give you the problem. If you have got them on the wrong side of the arm then that will be what is causing your problems. The same thing happens with the swift c...

Re: strut tops

They don't I spent some time based on the information that I got from JB and the kit that he has in his and you can't buy them by themselves. Having said that though it wouldn't be too hard to design a set to get made up.
