Re: original mb seats
Original seats are rare. You may find Hatch seats which are the same style but different fabric. The original seats were not the best & most were swapped out for seats from other vehicles or aftermarket as restoring the originals wasn't cost effective & the other options are usually more com...

Re: unhappy with my new boy
I was running F8b & matching auto in mine until half a tank of E10 shattered the rings (if only I'd been aware of that risk). I was able to get her out to 120Km/h for short stretches. I could only make 65 Km/h on a steep grade though. I also had the dual core radiator with that motor - some were...

Re: Headlight Retainer
That size headlight was used in a lot of different cars & the retainers were at least similar across the board. Check with a decent automotive store or aftermarket panel supplier & a new item should be available. Even worth looking through Hella, Narva & Britax catalogues.

Re: Heater Tap Replacement ?
Your local Repco/Bursons or similar Automotive spares outlet will be able to show you a multifit heater tap - most stores keep a couple of different types in stock. Otherwise, yours might be soldered up & reused.

Re: wanted clutch mounting bolts
Your local bolt supplies (not hardware /rural supplies) will be able to help with grade 8, 10 or 12 bolts. I'm not remembering the required tensile rating. All you need to do is tell them the diameter, thread pitch, length & head type. The flexplate bolts should give all but the length - add the ...

Re: Is a mightyboys first gear synchromesh
They are syncromesh, practically all cars made since about 1968 is. As Tez says, yours has worn the syncro mechanism on that gear out. I'd expect you might find repair a little on the expensive side but it is worth finding out anyway. I don't know if a replacement box will be found easily. Not hard ...

Re: Convex vs Flat rear vision mirrors
I like my main mirrors flat but have found convex mirrors very useful so I have put convex blind spot mirrors on my vehicles for some time now. My Jackaroo has an extra convex mirror on the left end of the bullbar that gives me vision from the bottom of the front wheel up to the roof rack. My MB had...

Re: speed related tapping sound
Check shafts for cable ties or anything likely to give that noise, get your tyres checked for round & balance or just swap front & back & see if there is a difference to start with. Also check your shock absorbers are not flogged out. A dead shock will allow wheel hop which develops flat...

Re: F10a TDC markings
I'm not familiar with that engine, check if there is an inspection hole in the bellhousing (may have a rubber plug) as the timing mark may be on the flywheel. Otherwise you can work out where the mark should be by removing the valve cover (so the rockers/followers can be seen) & No.1 spark plug ...

Re: m00neelee play time
I have neither a partner/wife nor parts cars but would suggest your wife likely to claim one of the MB's once she finds out how much fun they are. I would have parts cars if I had money & room to store them - Landlords have greater say & mine wants me to cart my toys to the dump (he is an ar...

Re: Gauge problems
If the problem persists, the fuel sender can be cleaned up with CLR (Calcium Lime Rust)recalibrated as per the workshop manual & reinstalled. You will need to remove the fuel tank to access the sender, remove it from the tank, carefully undo the tags on the sheetmetal box at the top of the unit ...

If that is a CSA casting mark, they will have been manufactured by CSA Wheels which are distributed in Australia by Mullins Wheels. Contact details are a search engine away.

Tez, I am pretty sure it will be possible - have a look at where the dome light wires run (very long time since I looked).
