Re: Gear Stick Squeek - Grease or silicone spray??

I was impatient and already done it. :thumbup1:
Sprayed some (read lots!) silicone on the rubber housing and put some lithium grease on the spring. Perfect. No noise at all and it is a lot smoother.

Gear Stick Squeek - Grease or silicone spray??

I have finally managed to find the time to modify the gear stick to reduce travel (lenghtening the bottom part), as well as bending it in a S shape to bring it closer to the driver. One thing that has been annoying me for the past 10 years is the squeek coming from the gear stick assembly: disassemb...

Re: OEM Radio / knobs(s)

Hi Chris,
Yes, very long time that I have not visited the forum but, hopefully, here to stay more regularly.
I was thinking of doing the same, in case I cannot find the original.

OEM Radio / knobs(s)

After years of almost neglect (too busy with work and life), I have decided to reinvigorate the poor old boy, "refreshing" the interior.
Has anyone got either 1 knob or (if cheap enough) the whole OEM radio? Would prefer the knob (anywhere in Aus) or the whole radio if in Melbourne metro.

Re: club rego

Mine has been on club plates for over 12 months. TCCAV (Toyota Car Club of Australia -Victoria) welcomes always new members as long as there is a genuine interest in using the car for club events (almost every week end there is either a competition - motorkhana/sprint/hillclimb/regularity or get tog...

Classic Japan 2015 - 6 December

Classic Japan is 3 months away. It would be great to get back there with a contingent of MBs like we did a couple of years back.

Re: CLASSIC JAPAN 2014.. SUN 7dec.

Hi mate,

last year we met on St Georges Road, about 500 mt from Toorak road. Plenty of parking on Sunday morning along the road and it only 5 minutes from Como Park.

Re: CLASSIC JAPAN 2014.. SUN 7dec.

...and it's back on.

I have just cancelled my week end away and I will be coming.
If anyone else is planning on coming, we could do what we did last year and meet on St George's Road at 8.30 and drive in together.

If interested, reply below so we know who we are waiting for on the day.

Re: CLASSIC JAPAN 2014.. SUN 7dec.

Hi Manny,

I would have loved to come, but I did book early in the year a weekend away and it is too expensive to change it now.
What a shame, I have even printed the T-shirts for the event this year and I can't even see them.

Enjoy and post pics.

Re: Removing hub

No, I haven't had the chance to trying again. Not sure how I missed your post earlier, but I assume when you say you're trying to remove the hub that you're trying to pop out the driveshaft? Did you have any luck? I am trying to replace the warped rotors and they seem to be stuck behind the hubs (wh...

Removing hub

I have tried today to replace my warped rotors, but I didn't manage to remove the hubs. What am I doing wrong? This is what I have done. Removed the wheel Removed the caliper Loosen the rotor bolts Removed the split pin Removed the spindle Tried in any way to remove the hub (hammer, extractor, ....)...
