Its alive, start and runs under its own steam :) no accelerator pump and i tore the gasket on it :x ,but i pulled down another carby and it doesnt have this brass plug thing so who knows, the other one is different aswell, 3 layer accelerator pump, a ball and pin in the float side compared to a bras...

Started the rebuild will take some photos as i go, not sure where a brass tube goes has a little oring on 1 end and a pin on the other. After reading another thread the 3 post coil has an internal resistor to bring it up to 3 ohms resistance total compared to a 1.5 coil and 1.6 external. So if irun a 12v coil with 3ohm internal resistance it should be fine and theoretically pulling the same current? Gt40t if i can find 1. Edit su12 ...

In the overview of the xr700 it states "the xr700 requires ballast resistance to limit coil current" in the kit i was supplied a gt40r and 1.6ohm ballast resistor, when connected in series to the ignition switched 12v i get a butt load of smoke and a heap of heat, with that second 12v feed...

Being a coil swap thread of decent info i put up my particular 3 pin coil has th an extra brown/white wire on the -ve aswell as the points lead,? +ve now has the two leads running from both other positive posts and the suppressor. Hey jermaine anychance you could pop off the dizzy cap and snap a pic. Bought a kit yesterday with the intent to use the 6 cylinder trigger wheel with black silicon in the 3 unused spaces. I think thats what they probably did with yours. Would be awesome if you could .

Update on carby prices. Delivery from the us for the linked one is about $90 usd + 189 usd is about $310 aus, vmi in melbourne $500 delivered nil stock aus 3 weeks.
