Re: Engine starts on one piston then slowly the others fire
Do a thorough service on the ignition system & see what happens. There is nothing in there that does not wear out. At least clean & set the points, replace rotor & cap & give her a fresh set of leads & plugs too if they have done 12 months - BP5ES from memory but a simple change ...

Re: Engine starts on one piston then slowly the others fire
I'd be doing a compression test before going through the electricals. My F8B had similar symptoms not long before it emitted a 'death cloud' on deceleration from highway speed...turned out all the rings had been shattered & a piece had been broken off & embedded in the crown of one piston. I...

Re: MIghty Boy Registration Patition to lower cost
It wouldn't be 20 years ago that the reverse was true in Qld. It was much cheaper to register a ute until people took notice of that fact & we ended up with lots of utes running around. The way vehicle rego & third party was altered to the current system once the Government saw what was goin...

Re: loosing coolant - f8b
Very simple system to bleed. Fill your radiator with the engine cold, leave the cap off for now. Start the engine (ensure Park/Neutral & handbrake on) & watch the coolant level in the radiator - once the engine makes operating temp & the thermostat opens, the coolant will be circulated &...

Re: MB hardcover
No obvious issues there. I'd go with the 3mm ally & unless you have access to professional tooling, just cut a sheet of 17mm ply to the shape of the tray & run a router around the back & sides with a 5 to 10 mm radius to make up your form. cut some more ply a little smaller & clamp t...

Re: MIghty Boy Registration Patition to lower cost
As for commercial rego in Qld, the fact your vehicle is classed as a commercial does not automatically allow use of loading zones. If you have 'Private' under purpose of use on your registration label/receipt you cannot use loading zones. If you have 'business' or 'commercial' as purpose of use, you...

Re: Adjustable Bucket Seats
Similar experience here - MB rails under donor seats. would love some after market sports seats as my donor seats are too high, a bit wide & do not flip forward but very hard to get a good fit as many are just a bit too wide.

More tempting than either my bank balance or garage space allow... sounds like a crazy li'l beast. Hope you find a home for it or convince the missus it has more purpose than she realises (But then, although i am definitely heterosexual - I'm not affected by pussy power) no need to mention I'm still...

re-manufacturer of harmonic balancers ???
Is anyone able to help with a contact for someone who re-manufactures harmonic balancers? My Jackaroo has shed the outer & new are genuine only at about $600 (4JG2T turbo diesel). I'd be happy to let the old girl sit for a while if I had my MB on the road but the upstairs neighbour refuses to al...

Re: SA Engine mounts and window winder
Window winders are cheap enough too - Mine are Toyota supplied but identical to a number of other makes.
Considering second hand winders can be brittled with age &/or otherwise damaged, new ones are worth the bother.

Re: Royally Fu#$ed
Hard to say for certain, I have seen a 1/4 inch nut go right through a Holden 253 V8 & get spat out the exhaust but have also seen small items lunch engines. I would be acquiring one of those inspection cameras that are being advertised all over the place now (some are very inexpensive & use...
