WHY WONT YOU WORK???

Just pulled out my dash in preperation for a new one and because it was out i decided to fix up the wireing for the stereo and centeral locking and make it neat. Fixed it all up, Did a bit of rewireing (all the time using a wireing diagram) Double checked to make sure it was all right, Turned power back on everything worked fine except i wasnt getting anything through the speakers. All of the wireing is fine, but i cant make any noise. I checked tuner and cd, Turned volume right up, and still nothing.

I was having a bit of trouble with it before i pulled it out. One time the speakers wernt working so i unplugged the battery and plugged it back in and they worked fine. Also every now and then it would just not work or it would come on and off. Thats the main reason behind me rewireing it because before it was just wires twisted and leccie taped and i thought there was a wire loose. At the moment i dont have any instruments in or the combo switch, could this have anything to do with it?

No sound, or intermittent sound going to the speakers means that you have a short somewhere in the speaker wiring. It could be any one of the speakers so you'll have to unplug them at the back of the deck one by one to find the problem.

Cheers Brayden, took me like 5 mins. In the end it was the passenger side door that was giving me dramas. The sleeve that covers the connector plug thing had just been slid back so that it wasnt covering the metal connector and it was touching th door i think. Problem solved

HOOORAAAY!!! yeh man anytime speakers are quietly going on and off is most and definatley a short.

No, they are exact opposites and can have completely different ramifications.
