Hey guys

I dont know where to start.....long story short, I got defected, had to get a front bumper and fix hole in bonnet. I had to get both them cleared with a full inspection with a Pink slip. I got the 'dodgy' defects cleared however i fail on the pink slip....the front left lower ball joint was loose and needed to get replaced or repaired to get it cleared...

I was just wondering how hard is it to fix and where can i get a suitable part to replace it? would a local Peps or Supercheap have the part.

Any help and advice is much appreciated....If i cant get this cleared I'm pretty sure I'm gonna sell up as a rolling shell, wit a shitty engine....

Lastly with the Nsw pink slips now on computers, does anyone know if you get failed at one place, is it on the record? and cant be cleared by another garage due to the previous fail??

Cheers Dale

Most parts retailers will be able to supply the required ball joint, probably not a stocked part (excepting Suzuki specialist) but can usually be ordered in overnight.
As for fitment, it is not the hardest job but needs a little know how - consult the manual on this site. You may also find the part number in the forum on our parts listing.
So many delays to getting my MB back in order with 993cc & 5 speed transaxle... neighbor issue gone, donor shell up on rotisserie, new sheds on the way.... another project also..

Entirely up to you but i always recommend to get a wheel alignment done at the same time

As per Ceej's link above, the ball joint is part of the lower control arm, so you need to replace the whole thing.

It is a matter of a few nuts and bolts to replace, and although replacing it shouldn't affect the wheel alignment I would still get one done anyway, as suggested.

I had to do the same thing for a blue slip.
I did a write up, which got placed in the tech FAQ.

I got both done at the place that sells them on ebay, I didn't Buy them on ebay because i'm a bit suss on the warranty and quality etc, so i went and had a look and gave them an extra $50 to install while i waited, got a printed business receipt and haven't had any more issues for over 12 months (at least)

Yep that's what I paid.
I got it from the local Auto Pro.
They had to order it in for me.
Looks like I got a good deal.
