what rpm's should a f10a with a 4 speed and stock 12 inch wheels be doing at 80kph,also what rpm should it idle at.thanks in advance

Well the general idle for most engines is 750 RPM. My F10a sits there.

I've got a 5 speed but my rpm at 100km is about 3500rpm -3800RPM.
wow thats good. mine at 80kph sits on 6500rpm (4 speed) ...your van with the 5 speed you said does 100kph @3500rpm there carnt be that much diferance in the 4 and 5 speed or is there...

The f10a and the f8a should idle at 900 rpm as per fact specs to keep the oil pumping through,i would never drive over 80 kph with a 4 speed-revs to high for too long and the 5 speed is the way to go.the difference is amazing and better fuel economy.im getting 5 litres per 100klm in the super carry with f8a and 5 speed,roof racks on top and 4 kids on board...ken

You sure do. Fuels cheap, but with a 5 speed its bloody cheap These gearboxes are cheap as unless you go through a wreckers who will charge you the earth.
