Hi!

Any advice?

Had MB on stands wheels off to do front brake pads
Ran engine to charge battery.
When car in gear found left wheel barely revolving and could be stopped easily by placing foot on disc rim while drivers side was driving normally
I am assuming a differential problem although I have noticed nothing when driving
I have to replace clutch soon as it is nearly kaput, but don't fancy tearing gearbox apart.
Can diff be attacked separately?
Can it be removed on it's own without dropping gearbox?
Sounds like a stupid Question but at 73 I want the least work possible.

Hi Jock.

If both wheels are off the ground, then what you describe is entirely normal...

take a look at the following URL :
