Breyten's neverending build
Seems the fuel tank is feeding as much junk as fuel up the lines.
Will hopefully drain n drop the tank out this weekend. Can wash n rinse out with water, but has anyone on here used RedKote or similar?
There is another one that comes in a kit with anti-rust treatment as well from PPC, but not sure if it is worth it. Might be quicker than trying to get a replacement tank.

So I got distracted a bit the last two weeks. Now have a Cert4 Project Managemen. Yay, go me!
also have put new seats inso I dont fall off them when cornering, or screw my back (again).
as per this thread
http://www.teammightyboy.com/forum/view ... f=1&t=6578
I went and got the seats and the pre-drilled bars to suit.
some precise drilling and use of spacers was nessesary as the place to drill to match the stock rails was very close to the bolts to secure the bars to the seats.
otherwise, the only modification to any stock part of the vehicle was to enlarge the seat-mount holes in the stock rails to suit the M8 bolts.
I will get a pic of the mount setup later, but for now, end result!
will get back to the fuel tank issue next week.

Got the fuel tank cleanout, treatment and sealing last weekend.
Had the MB round the block a few times to test it out.
Still running a bit rough, so drove it up to Suzistore today to get them to give it a good going over. Will collect next week.
Was a fun drive though, backstreets the whole way!

Update:
The carby was rooted. I had also stuffed up the manual linkage replacement for the vacuum diaphram.
All rebuilt and sorted now, and tuned up given once over.
Have had it out on the road a few times now, and had the windscreen replaced as well.
Obtained some shifter bushings from Hewball, as mine had none! They worked great, for about 40kms. They were of unknown age, and used. However before they went in I measured them up, sketched it and sent to Hewball.
He CAD'd up a set and printed some up in ABS plastic using his RepRap printer.
Fitted them last weekend as well, and now the shifter is very precise, almost too tight and notchy.
Have figured that I have a 16mm sway bar. Will definately consider getting a new one fabbed, or a used one found, that is a fair bit thicker.
Oh, and having the MB out on the road in the fair weather sure gets some looks. Really popular with kids pressed up against windows in traffic! The 550 sounds awesome with the extractors on too.
Next is bushings, brakes and rattles...

So of late the Jeep has been getting some attention, but the MB was out for a short drive last week.
After the drive the garage was being reorganised, to the tray is loaded up to the garage roof now!
I was hoping to fang it a bit more, but my wife came along so it was a fair bit more sedate. And somehow noisier
