im not using my alto much atm cos the gearbox is sick so im trying to fix some of the probs i havent had a chance to yet
one that is bugging me is my coolant dissapears
i completley overhauled the cooling system last year fitted all new hoses, new thermostat, new thermo switch (mine was dead), new cap and the radiator isnt real old either and it all works great now.
car warms up in no time, runs a good temp, my heater is working great and the fan cycles as it should
how ever about once a fortnight i have to top up the overflow bottle with bout half a cup to keep it between the marks
i havent found any leaks anywhere and its not burning water either
checked the plugs and theyre all have nice tan electrodes
and its defniatley not going in the oil either
it never gets hot enough to expand coolant into the overflow tank
i drove from lismore to brisbane sitting on 110km on a 32degree day a few months ago and it still didnt going into the over flow bottle
its a standard F5A too

anythoughts?

Mine did something similar but there was a slight leak in the radiator - you could try outting some stop leak stuff in there and see what happens...

Coolant either leaks or evaporates, it doesn't disappear. ;)
