Camshaft & Crankshaft Alignment
The rumble is slowly going away, my alternator died soo no more driving until thats done, bought an ef off ebay today, get that fitted up soon. Im thinking it may be the slides, but they seemed free when i had the calipers off, i'll take them out and put so vaso on them to be sure. Thanks.
There is a proper grease available to lube the slides up.
Cheers

That's because they're the same thing, and using either of them anywhere near a car is the funniest thing I have heard in a while!

There is a specific caliper slide grease avaliable. i think pbr used to make it. No way would i be using vas?
rubber grese would be ok
those brake rubber grease sachets(made by peratex i think) you can buy at supercheap are basically silicone grease with colour.....
basically if you need to grease something that comes in contact with rubber use silicone grease, everything else use a good high temp grease that has molybdenum disulphide(moly) in it.
vaso or jelly will just melt away after a day or two leaving a dry sliding pins which will jam...don't use those 'greases' on any part of your car....leave them to your private life

Vasoline becomes a highly viscous liquid at about 40 degrees, and brakes can get to a few hundred degrees with heavy use.
Vaso would probably be okay for parts assembly, but why use it when there are specific high-temp greases easily available?

It is the idle cutoff solenoid, and yes you need one.
