Reckon the boxed lines on the Escort/Imp?? work better.
I would look to taper toward front & rear of panels.
Porsche/Ferrari & others used this idea esp. late '70's through '80's, often using vents in the guards. They looked like the guards had been pumped big time & the doors were left orig. except for trims to match into the guards if needed.
nathans project thread a long time coming....
So many delays to getting my MB back in order with 993cc & 5 speed transaxle... neighbor issue gone, donor shell up on rotisserie, new sheds on the way.... another project also..
had found some suspension last week, turned out it was not what i wanted...
today ordered the correct suspension front and rear, as well as some coil overs for the rear. ive also found all the steering right upto the steering wheel
as soon as the road condition improves i will go collect it from brisbane.....
stupid rain...

if i can lock the build in before the/any changes happen it wont be a problem....
also its unlikely to be passed IMO as it would be impossible to build a ICV then as no person has the R-and-D ability to do that kind of stuff from home...
would kill the GT40 - Cobra - Lotus 7 replica companies overnight...
as it is currently an engineer can write an exemption for most things i it can be justified... thats how none of the icv's need actual impact testing, they dont need windscreens and the list of exemptions goes on....

Yeah I have a mate from work who built a clubman, he was just saying what will happen if it is passed and all. Just giving you heads up, but if your thing is passed it should be exempt. Not sure about impact testing, tortional and those tests still need doing as far as i know.

torsional needs doing, but impact cant be done on a single chassis, as a real impact test requires smashing it... would need to build +4 identical chassis to have this done (front, side, rear, one to keep...) so they do a theoretical impact only and say its not needed to be done, but it gets a plate to say its not been done...
its a involved process, thats why my engineering alone will cost upto 4k...

Yeah thats why alot of people go with a westy or caterham rather than locost, most tests have been done. I guess doing icv means your wheels can be as wide as you want. Only problem I can see from now on is that technically its not a mighty boy

locost gets all the same test requirements as the westy, so while a kit is easier as it all bolts together the engineering is the same. caterham is different here in oz as they are sold complete and registered to my knowledge they cant be easily got as a kit...
well heard from qld transport, have been knocked back on the first application, but the application is not dead, we are doing chassis cad design, with body representation and re-submitting... this will be one long process...
today got the suspension under the body will mark up the body and then its time for more cutting...

yep, thats the plan, the car will drive without the body, the body will attach to the chassis after its all done...
the floor and all lines/elec loom will be housed in the chassis with connectors from the loom for the lights...
think of it like this pic, but with a mightyboy body over the top... the dash and everything is with the chassis not the body
