Hi All,

I've just become a owner of a '82 Hatch. Bought as a commuter, but since finding this forum, I now feel I need to spend some money on it :D

I paid $1000 for it and it came with: New shoes, pads, wheel cylinders, master cylinder fitted. New floor carpet. Spare completely rebuilt F5A (which was I fitted this weekend) and 6 months rego.

So this will be my build thread, it may be a bit slow as I'm in between jobs at the moment.

Was bored today, so I decided to lay some sound deadner matting in the back. It has made a noticable difference.

Yeah, best workshop I've worked at in 10 years. Always kept clean, Tech's actually clean up after themselves :-o
Unfortunately, last week there and heading into the mines with every other tradie. But, hopefully will give me more money to play with. :D

Yeah, I'm happy to fly the flag for the Hatch's. Hopefully the Sept cruise at Kangaroo valley goes ahead and I'm not rostered on. I'll be there for sure :thumbup2:

I prob went a bit over board in the rear as it was to be a demo sound car for the local Autobarn. But I have a new toy, 1955 Oval window Beetle. So the Hatch has been put on stand-by for now except for a few jobs just to clean her up.

Check out

I have used 33 out of the 36 sheets. I am still yet to do my roof and doors. I'm thinking another 12 sheets will do.

Product is extremely easy to install. Sheets cut very easy and roll on nicely. Aslong as you prep the surface properly(cleaning).

Autobarn had Dynamat, the boot kit (32sq/ft) was near on $300. The link above is $200 (40sq/ft), don't know what the overall difference in sound protection is between the two of them.

My car is Quieter and it was cheaper so its a WIN for me. :thumbup1: :thumbup1: :thumbup1:

Thanks to Husky for getting me the new carby. All bolted up tonight with the help from Chad's shed, tools and help. :thumbup1:

Left the F8A Jets(they came installed) in and drove it, couldnt fault the driveability, so left them in. No power gain, but then the F5A never had power to begin with :snigger:

Are they whitewalled tyres or flappers? Either way it looks good. :)
