anyone replaced strut tops on their alto??
or understands at least how they work?
ive taken mine out - and they pretty much fell apart
got new rubbers from suzuki sport, but i cant work out how it works :\
and what about tie-rod ends? easily available? same as the MB ones?

Are you sure the rubbers you bought aren't for some fancy SuzukiSport strut top units? The tops on all Aus spec Alto/Hatch/MBs are solid items replaced whole.
As for the tie rod ends, I can't see any reason why they would be different to Aus ones, but you never know. SuziWest apparently stock them for about $55ea from memory.

well my current tops dont have any bearing style ive seen before
no ball bearing ah.. bearing. some kind of plastic disc that rests on another and spins with grease
edit: the suzuki sport guy said the rubbers are for the oem units.. but it is a alto works rs/r

well you need to remove the strut from the car put spring compressors on the spring to relieve all tension from the strut top(you should be able to spin it freely) always check the spring compressors as they have a tendancie to slide down the spring and shoot off pretty scary . then use a rattle gun to undo the centre nut in the strut top, the strut top will come of by hand! put the new one on, do the nut up and slowly release the compressors, and you are done....
