...That seems kinda unusual that you're getting a lower reading cold than you are hot... If anything you should be getting a slightly above full indication when cold if you're sitting right on the full indicator with the engine and box at operating temperature... :|

so long as i don't pop a seal, because of excessive oil. I will top it up a little again. I guess it should be safe if the dip stick shows in between L and F  Is there an auto service manual particular to this gear box?
I understand there is no mightyboy factory manual.

Actually I recently discovered that there is a very rare MightyBoy workshop manual in existence. In fact one sold on ebay for like $90 - which is odd when you consider it is almost identical to the Hatch manual which you can pick up for $20. :?

I'll check both my workshop manuals to see if there is any mention of the auto gearbox.

I would greatly apriciate that.
Even if the ss40v manual is identical, I wonder if the ss40v hatch was ever offered with an auto in Australia?
I'd even pay for photocopies of such material for my own reference.

Have you ever see the japanese sales brochure for the mighty boy? .... very cool indeed.

I have both the 40V and 80V manuals, so I'll check both. They will also be put on the TAMON site when I get time. There are a few hundred pages to scan.

Oh, also, the Australian catalogue for the MB is on the site too. http://www.tamon.org/?page=media
That jap one is pretty cool though. First time I saw it I noticed a few things:

A/C was available in Japan, and the "base" model has different seats to the "upmarket" model, which also had a tacho. Very interesting stuff.

On the brochure it shows a 5 speed manual, as well as auto.
Is that a turbo on the picture of the engine?
Also the PS-A model didn't have the roof bars and
it looks like an economy rate of 31.4km/l for the PS-L model. :-o

Wow, I missed that one - most definately a 4 and 5 speed manual, plus 2 speed auto. The image of the motor with what looks to be a turbo is a bit misleading though - if you look at the specs page it lists the exact same engien specs for all three models.

we've all been fooled if you compare most of the pics with the exception of the dash, a/c and gear stick they have been lifted to use on the Australian Mighty Boy Sales Brochure ... including the engine ... is it the turbo?? ..... you guys should have a better eye for this?
Still; this means that in Japan there must be plenty of spares and extras for our mighty boys! especial the factory tacho ... air con.
Anyone speak japanese???
