the centre console is out of a ford tx3 laser hatch i don't know year i would say around 89', and sound deadening paint is not nearly as affective as sound deadening mat, but substantially cheaper, and for the floor i think it is fine.

I agree though... :P

The floor doesn't rattle so matting isn't needed. Although I'd much prefer lead then paint-on deadening. Just depends how far you want to push it ;)

I prefer non-porous, non-adhesive matting. Why? Because the MB is so tin-flimsy that it cuts road noise an absolute shitloa - especially from the rear wheels, which can get quite drony in the cavities around the wheel arches.
