These:
http://tamon.edave.net/gallery/v/member ... =xcf312a78
only weigh about 4kg each without tyres...

After i finish screwing around with engines i try to get the mightyboy to 'accept' the wider rims... probably with a grinder and a welder.

OK, just some power to weight ratios for comparison. I've rounded down just to keep it neat.

Stock F5A MB - 34kW/Tonne
Stock F8B MB - 60kW/Tonne
Stock F6A DOHC Turbo MB - 81kW/Tonne

These 3 are assuming that the car's weight is the stock quoted 580KG's. I doubt many of you are, considering wheel/tyre choice, plus the added weight of stereos, fabrication for the turbo, etc. Let's factor in an extra 100KG's for that stuff, then see the figures...

F5A - 29kW/Tonne (same as the current victa ride-on lawnmower range, incidently...)
F8B - 51kW/Tonne
F6A DOHC Turbo- 69kW/Tonne
Naturally these figures change if there's mods involved.

Now let's add a little competition to see what we're up against...

Stock VL Turbo - 113kW/Tonne
Stock VS SS 5L - 104kW/Tonne (heavier than a VL, remember)
Stock VZ SS 6L - 157kW/Tonne

And just for fun (and for those who watch Top Gear  )

Stock Pagani Zonda - 319kW/Tonne

Even my Wife's crappy little 1.5L hatchback that she pootles about in is worth 86kW/Tonne in it's current stuffed state.

I'm finding some people's "wins" to be a little bit far-fetched, unless you're running motors that are heavily modded, or the car's you're "racing" are flogged out P.O.S. that can't pull a wet thong off the back of a cat... That is if the other driver was taking you seriously to start with and actually "racing".

Sorry to put a dampener on the thread, but i'm just injecting a little bit of reality - We're totally outgunned & underpowered for drag racing (well, at least MOST of us are anyway...)

Maaaayte... thanks for that reality injection! Its a much more succinct way of flying the BS flag that I was waving in my head.

these figures scared me a bit, i just worked out my new rides approx figures for a comparison,
i came up with
280ish kW/tonne (as is assuming standard factory power figures for motor)
and
420ish kW/tonne by the end of the year (with the proven mods list i am putting into motion atm...)

thats scary.....
