Hi All,
I've got an '83 SS-80 (Hatch), and I'm experiencing an annoying rumbling type sound when driving. Its especially annnoying around 80kph. I first thought that it would be the diff or something starting to give up, but now I suspect that it might just be a wheel bearing - as the noise dies down or stops while I turn to the left. Is there a good way of diagnosing this? Could it also be a CV Joint (inner or outer), but they usually just click while turning don't they?
Also, does anyone reading this from NZ (esp. Auckland) know of any good workshops that are knowledgable in the ways of the ancient Suzuki? Seems to be a lot more interest in them in Aussie - probably mainly due to the MightyBoy.
Also would just like to say that the F8B rules. I can't beleive how much fun this car is to drive. It reaches the end of the clock (150kph) without any complaints - wouldn't like to crash it tho...
Cheers!
A rumble in my ride
Sounds like a front left wheel bearing to me.

Cool, thanks for the help!
Do you know if I can get some kind of universal bearing or is it suzuki specific?

No need to go chasing factory parts mate. Just ring your local bearing place - I scored Brayden and my own new sets from our local CBC.

you just upload an animated gif onto a server like imageshack, then just type the forum link to that pic - Imageshack gives you all the ready made links.

No, that shouldn't be necessary - they'll have it catalogued under Suzuki Hatch if not MightyBoy. The two are identical.shavenyak wrote:I'd have to show them the old one though eh?

Oh yeah, well I'm in NZ so it definately wouldn't be Mighty Boy - either SS-80, Alto or I guess early Holden Barina?

You need to put image tags around it.
This discussion should be moved to your other thread on the subject.
Further, I'm not sure that your proposed signature image is entirely appropriate mate, but we'll leave the mod to decide that...
