Hi guys,

I have been searching for a while for a 1987 Suzuki Alto RS-X works.

I have googled and searches through many a trading post to find one. The 87 really tickles my fancy. I am not a big fan of the 88 with the round lights.

Wondering what site I can go to to find one of these cars. I would preffer one that has had a few mods already done.

Thanks,

I have one that I am thinking about selling.

Its an 87 RSX, with a few very minor mods (full viper remote start alarm, turbo timer, neons!, boost guage, bov, cd player and splits).

It has 6 months rego and runs beatifully. The only issue is that the gearbox has dropped a carrier bearing.

Let me know if your interested.

Hi there.

A few more questions.

$$???
Where the car is located?
How many Kms?
Tyre tread %??
Manual I am guessing?
Reliability? As it will be used as a daily driver.

im after about $3000 for it as is. You could spend about $500 getting a new gearbox for it, or spend about the same and rebuild it. Its been my daily driver for the past year, and until the gearbox trouble, its ran perfectly. Im located in Adelaide. It has 5 months of registration left on it.

The odometer reads 26,000, but it only goes up to 99,999 - so my guess is it has done 126,000. Not sure exactly what percentage of tread the tyres have, but they probably have another year left in them.

Yes it is a 5 speed manual. I dont think any of the RSX's or RSR's were auto? maybe Im wrong??

The carrier bearing is just a linkage thing is it not??

I doubt that it will ned a new box.

I will keep it in mind. I will have to sell my current cat first.

I have an 07 Swift sport but I love my altos.

Finding a 20 year old Alto that doesn't need work... somehow I don't like your chances!

The carrier/selector shaft is the shaft inside the box the hold the selector forks on it. There are bearing on the ends of the shaft that allow it to slide forwards and backwards in order to select the gears.

These bearings can be replaced But I think I will now wait till I gotten my skyline back on the road, had my fun with it and sold it before I get another car.

I think the alto may have to be another project.

It's not fair LOL. I want one but I think I have too many cars as it is.
