They are from a hyundai elantra series 2 (around 2004/5) same stud pattern, perfect offset (38-40mm) and the best part of all you can use your standard wheelnuts, no need to upgrade to bigger studs, and no need to do any work to your guards to fit them (upto 2" lowered).

They are a 5.5" wide rim, i picked mine up from a local hyundai wreckers for $40

My boy is lowered 3.5" at the rear and 4.5" at the front, and even then only needed minor work.

The tyres are Federal 165x45x15 (thanks Toranaguy!) and can be had for $119+ each. tyres are 6.5mm smaller in diameter than standard, not enough to worry about.

comparison to a standard commodore wheel/tyre;

Niiko has been using Elantra wheels for a couple of years now. If I had've known you were on the lookout I would have made the suggestion and saved you the hassle of searching.

They're actually 21mm larger than standard 12" rim and 145/70 tyre, which makes a significant difference. (Almost 5%)

The speedo is calibrated to 145/70/R12 tyres. If you have 145R12 then they are somewhere above 80 profile (commercial tyre) and not what the ute was fitted with standard. ;)

I've got a set of standard 145/70 tyres on Ed, I'll have to take a pic and show you the size difference, but it is definitely 20+mm.

Your welcome about the tyres dude! I wish i could have got mine for that price, i paid $150 each for them.

I reckon the Hyundai rims would look good in silver. Chaser style. If i didn't get my rims for the price i did, I'd be grabbing a set of these. :D

Cheers

Also anything wider than 185/40/15 has to have spacers on back to clear the springs. I run 195 with 3 mm spacers. Need all the traction i can get..

with the larger wheels and lowered front and back did you have to stiffen up the suspension a lot so the wheels don't mash the guards if you hit a bump going around a corner?

Mr Anderson, i reckon it'd be pretty fair to say that mine is one of, ifnot the lowest with fixed suspension boy, and i was surprised at how little i had to do to fit this particular rim/tyre combo.
EDIT( i forgot to add, i made my own front struts quite a while ago using a later model strut and a much stiffer spring than whats recommended in the lowering DIY thread. It may have some affect on my setup but would make no difference on a regularly lowered mighty)

i did the norm, roll front and rear guards.
Other than that, i had an issue when i had 2 ppl in the car and i went around a corner/hit a bump with a single rear wheel, the rim would juuuust touch the shock mounting bolt. changed the bolt with a smaller head and all is good.
I also changed the rear leaf spring bushes for good measure.

im now going a 7.5" rim with the same 165x45 tyres, once i sort out the guard issues with those ill be lowering it some more.

My rims are 5.5 The front required a little pull on the guards and roll the lip. The rears I cut the lip off the bump stop,(then rewelded it) then rolled the guard. I also run the single leaf spring, which i had reset 2 inches lower. The ride feels so much better the a set of springs with lowering blocks.
