hi all whats the redline for the f10a being a suzuki you would think its pretty high, i have read on this forum that the f10a makes its peak power @5200 rpm, so does that mean the redline is 5200 :?

thats just where its peak power is the redline is usually higher. my guess it would be around the 6000 - 6500 my g16b sierra is 6500.

It is only a single cam, so the redline won't be high in comparison to something like a G13B.

It doesn't say in the workshop or owners manual? I'll check mine and get back to you. A range of 6000-6500 sounds about right.

Has anyone had there carry over 4500 revs while driving?

I'm starting to think I have an inaccurate tacho. On the ground I reved it up to 7000rpm once but didn't hold it down to find out where it would stop. But while I'm driving the most I've had it at was about 4500rpm at 130km/ph.

There's no rev limiter, so it would stop when you drop a valve or dry seize the bearings. ;)

Lol brayden! A valve probably would stick then you'd get mashed valves on pistons. Now that I think about it that way I don't think I'll be reving her up past 7000rpm any more. Ain't no performance engine so probably has soft valve springs.

I've set my red line to 5000rpm on my tacho but who knows if its accurate. In comparison to my mates carry he says his sits at 4500rpm at 100km and I don't doubt that.

I've got my shift light set at 4000rpm and I hardly hit that.

When I get time I'll hook a multimeter up with the rpm setting and see what results I get.

I set my shift light at whatever RPM the engine produces peak power.

I don't have mine lower because the red light stays on while I'm driving 100km, it gets annoying.

wow i hardly see it under 4500rpm at 60kph my 4 speed f10a revs at 4200rpm at 80kph its at 6000rpm and thats as far as i will rev her but befor i put the tacho in i had done 100 in her once or twice thinking about that now it must of been reving some where near 8000rpm :-o

like my post said my 4 speed f10a in top gear at 60kph is at 4200rpm at 80kph its doing 6000rpm so no im not racing im just trying to do the speed limit :P..... i put this down to the 5.125diff gears and the 4 speed remember these vans are made to carry 500kg around tight city streets and have 12 inch tyers so come on we carnt expect low rpm at high speeds(100kph) with this combo of diff gears 4speed and 12's its just not going to happin.............lucky to last a week  its lasted 270000 kays so far and is still strong sounds to me like you dont have much faith in your van wi101 :ugh:
