Don't know for cert. but reckon an F6a/b could be set up to sound like that. Otherwise there has been some talk of Hyabusa engines being used... not that this Hatch demonstrates that sort of power.

Bike motor in the rear for sure - the intake on the side is a giveaway. CBR900 engines are popular, but your guess is as good as mine!

That green hatch doesnt have much oomph just a little noise and could be much faster with
well sorted supercharged g10 or F10 in the rear with lsd, fwd G series box would be perfect
or even better G13B with some cams, pipes and extra compression.

anyone found more info on this little green beast?

I think even a small 700cc bike engine with sequential gearing would be awesome for a hatch the problem is sorting out the rear drive when layed out in the back like this one has done. I reckon it would be easier at the front using a Honda v4 from a Pan European but its 1300cc! with a prop shaft to the back with LSD sierra diff.

the standings for the suzuki hatch was Japanese Car Day Superkhana 14th October 2011 - Afternoon Session
10 Franz Esterbauer 2004 Mitsubishi Evo8 MR 41.44 40.97 41.23 123.64 1
5 Jamie Lister 2000 Subaru WRX 41.73 42.24 42.00 125.97 2
16 Dennis Heller 2004 Mitsubishi Evo8 MR 44.40 42.92 43.37 130.69 3
27 James Davies 2001 Mitsubishi Evo 43.67 43.90 43.42 130.99 4
7 Mitchel Clarke 1996 Subaru WRX STI RA 43.59 43.53 44.21 131.33 5
26 Lance Carwardine 1981 Suzuki Hatch 45.25 44.77 43.79 133.81 6

some other standings
Top 10
1 – Robert Badivuk – 2008 Mitsubishi Evo 10- 182.00
2 – Tsung Lee – 1992 Honda Civic – 182.93
3 – Craig Stott – 2000 Subaru WRX – 188.75

If you can provide a write-up with pics it'd be great to feature it on the front page of the website.

Yeah, some pics of the engine setup would be cool if anyone's seen them. I've recently acquired a 190 hp K8 GSXR1000 with a cracked frame. Engine should still be good.
