Gearstick Lever Components

Hi just wondering where I can purchase the spring that sits under gear stick lever mine has gone and now stick has heaps of travel still works but would like to fix it

There is no spring. The fulcrum joint is housed in a nylon casing, and the rest of the components are rubber bushes and nylon joints. Pretty sure someone posted all the part numbers on the forum.

The only springs are on the selector mechanism inside the gearbox.

Hi Salty, were you able to find the part numbers for your gear lever? I am having the same problems.

When mine was sloppy it was the nylon bushes at bottom of the shifter. Got them from suzi shop. 2 of them were required, access is easy under the car.

Depends on the gearbox. I had trouble with mine, too. Found an elderly gentleman with a shipload of manuals from the '80's. He let me photograph this pic..... No 6 is the spring.

I've found that 95% of all SS40's at the wreckers have the standard gearstick coupling. (circled) as CHR15 N stated, rubber bushes wear out.(2 each end)
